Dinesh Sharma Appointed Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar: New Appointment in Strategic Union Territory

President Droupadi Murmu has appointed BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma as the Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rashtrapati Bhavan issued a notification regarding this on September 5, 2026. The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of the new office. He will replace the incumbent Lieutenant Governor, retired Admiral D.K. Joshi, who has held the position since October 2017.
