How many languages ​​are currently included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution?

On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of the Union; hence, Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on September 14. Articles 343–351 contain provisions regarding the official language, while the Eighth Schedule lists 22 languages, and the official use of English alongside Hindi continues under the Official Languages ​​Act, 1963.
