What quantity of raw sugar has the Government of India permitted to be imported duty-free?

The Government of India has permitted the duty-free import of 10 lakh metric tonnes of raw sugar under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) until October 31, 2026. To control rising prices and festive demand, stock limits equivalent to 15 days of consumption have also been imposed on large bulk consumers.
