Where was the 28th meeting of the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) Society held?

The 28th meeting of the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) Society was held on July 9, 2026, at the Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), Coimbatore. It was chaired by Bhupender Yadav, the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change. This was the first meeting of the reconstituted society. A scientific roadmap for the next three years was approved during the meeting. Special emphasis was placed on mitigating human-wildlife conflict, technology-based wildlife management, biodiversity conservation, and capacity building. WII is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and is the premier national institute for wildlife research and conservation in India.
