Eligible women aged 18–60 years who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh can apply online or through the District Women Fund Office.

The Uttar Pradesh Women Enterprise Fund Scheme 2026 is a women-centric financial assistance initiative launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide accessible, low-interest loans for establishing and expanding micro and small enterprises. The scheme focuses on promoting women entrepreneurship, encouraging self-employment, ensuring financial inclusion, and enhancing women's participation in the state's economy.

Key Features and Financial Assistance

Under the scheme, eligible women can avail loans ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹10 lakh at an annual interest rate of approximately 4%. No collateral is required for loans up to ₹2 lakh, making institutional finance easily accessible for first-time women entrepreneurs. This provision also strengthens women's access to the formal banking system.

Target Beneficiaries and Social Inclusion

The scheme gives priority to women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), widows, women with disabilities, women from minority communities, and economically weaker sections. It therefore promotes the principles of social justice, gender equality, and inclusive growth.

Eligibility and Application Process

Women aged 18 to 60 years who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh, have an annual family income below ₹3 lakh, and possess a viable micro/small enterprise plan or an existing business are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted through the online portal or the District Women Fund Office. Required documents include Aadhaar Card, Income Certificate, Residence Certificate, Bank Account Details, and a Business Plan.

UPSC Perspective

This scheme is directly related to Women Empowerment, Financial Inclusion, Entrepreneurship Development, Inclusive Growth, Poverty Alleviation, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is particularly important in the context of SDG-5 (Gender Equality), SDG-8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities). The topic is highly relevant for the UPSC Preliminary Examination, GS Paper-II, GS Paper-III, and the Personality Test (Interview).
